Registry (ProofRegister)
A Registry is the append-only public ledger, conforming to PP-SPEC-004 (ProofRegister API), where the commitments, reveals, fingerprints, results, findings, coverage maps, bookings and verdicts of a Proof Protocol run are published. The public instance is proofregister.com.
The rules
- Everything the specifications require to be published goes to a Registry. Publishing anywhere else is additional, never a substitute.
- Every Unit of Proof, result series record and booking carries its Registry record identifier as
proofregister_uri. - Registration precedes publication. A result is registered before any rate derived from it is published or cited, and the published result carries the Registry Receipt: the Registry’s signed acknowledgment that it recorded the record under a stated root and Time Anchor pulse.
- A run that was executed but never registered may be described as “executed under PP-SPEC-077”. It is not Conformant and produces no Units of Proof. See Conformance Level.
- The Provider never operates the Registry for its own run (IP-9).
