Proof Economy Universal Framework

The Proof Economy Universal Framework is the domain-agnostic architecture for replacing self-attestation with machine-verifiable proof: no claim is valid without a proof artifact generated before the claim is made, anchored to an independent time source, and verifiable by any party without access to the claimant's infrastructure.

What it means

Claims drive decisions everywhere: vendor detection rates, AI safety benchmarks, risk exposures, sourcing standards, trial outcomes, emissions reductions. The dominant way those claims are validated is self-attestation. Self-attestation is not a trust mechanism. It is an absence of one.

The framework replaces claim-then-verify with proof-first: the proof exists before the claim, and anyone can check it.

Proof-first is not auditing or certification

Core architecture

  1. Atomic Execution Unit (AEU): the smallest observable unit of behavior. In security, one technique execution.
  2. Valid Proof Event (VPE): a machine-readable capture of one AEU: commitment, parameters, outcome, hash.
  3. Valid Proof Stream (VPS): an ordered, append-only sequence of VPEs for one session.
  4. Pre-execution commitment: parameters committed to an independent time or randomness source before execution.
  5. Proof Record: the sealed artifact: the VPS, the commitment, hashes, executing party and ledger anchor.
  6. Append-only ledger anchoring: the record is anchored to a public ledger, verifiable without the issuer.
  7. Proof Chain ID: a globally unique identifier for each Proof Record.
  8. ProofRegister: the public ledger of Proof Records.
  9. Five-tier corroboration: Activated, Committed, Witnessed, Analyzed, Sealed. A claim is valid only against a Sealed record.
  10. Independent verification: anyone with the identifier can verify the record without the issuer’s systems.

The tiers protect evidence after capture. Whether the capture was faithful in the first place is fidelity-at-capture.

Scope

The active reference implementation is agentic AI security evaluation. The framework is domain-agnostic, with near-term application to AI safety, software supply chain, financial risk and regulatory compliance, and longer-term application to clinical research, ESG, critical infrastructure, government procurement, insurance underwriting and capital markets.
